THE ARCADE MALL PROJECT
The Oldest Indoor Mall in the U.S.
Providence, RI
Before
This was the condition of one of the existing rooms in the basement, it was not being used due to the natural rock footings shown protruding into the room along the walls.
After
The space became functional by installing multiple 3' x 5' x 7'-6" high tenant storage cages constructed of 10ga. 2" x 1" style steel mesh with 1 1/4" steel angle iron frames. Each cage has a full size hinged door with hasps for padlocks. The obstacle of the natural rock footings was overcome by utilizing galvanized sheet metal floors raised just above footings.
